Little Things

Life is all about the Little Things...
Now mind you I thought of all these things while I was tucked in bed late last night, feeling all cosy and sentimental, but I thought I'd share a few of the little things I am thankful for every day.

  • My Canon camera... (probably my most prized material possession)
  • Almost hearing the quiet snowfall on an empty trail in the forest...
  • The smells of yummy treats baking
  • My mom... (sums up an immensely large amount of little things)
  • The currently toothless smile from my baby girl...
  • Mascara... (for making feel presentable, even on my "bad" days)
  • Naps... (especially with Makenna)
  • My dogs fierce love for her glow in the dark ball... (I'm sure she loves it more then me)
  • Dipping my toes into a lake...
  • An always full tank of gas in the car for my many unplanned adventures/random touring...
  • My pumpkin spice candle...
  • Random confidence boosting facebook comments from far away friends...
  • Sunshine... (anytime, all the time)
  • Photography... (the ability to capture a single moment and treasure it for a life time)
  • The smell of my horse... (She brings alot of peace to my life)
  • The sound of strangers laughing...
  • The inquisitive eyes of young children... (I have a particular story about this one I may share)
  • The smell of Makenna after a warm bath... (the best of the baby scents)
  • Silent conversations...
  • The flickering of a candles soft glowing flame... (yes I have a candle obsession)
  • The words; adorable, creative, dream, & simplicity
Daily life gets so hectic sometimes that we all miss out on the little things that make life worth living.
I hope to remember and enjoy more often.

Take care because I care!

Wagons & Forests & Coco, Oh My!

What a wonderful day Makenna and I have had!
We went to a provincial park for a Family Day event put on by the community. It certainly exceeded my expectations. They had ice skating, snow painting, cross country skiing, snow shoeing, tons of children's activities, and wagon rides. Now seeing that I have a equitation back round my goal was to get little Makenna onto a waggon ride right away :)
She definitely has horse love in her blood! She was smiling and looking around the entire ride. The waggon was led by two big Canadians, and took us on a 15 minute ride through a beautiful forest and past some frozen ponds. It was a really gorgeous ride, and both Makenna and I enjoyed ourselves thoroughly despite the chilly weather.
There was free coffee, hot chocolate, doughnuts, and hot dogs available also. And of course I enjoyed a cup of coco while standing beside an open fire.
Overall I was quite impressed by the event they put on, and surprised by the turn out.
I am really looking forward to making a tradition of going with Makenna every year for her "half birthday" and getting to celebrate Family Day at the same time. It definitely makes the holiday a bit more special for me at least.

Hope you all enjoyed your Sunday as well!

Half Birthdays

Its perfectly acceptable to celebrate half birthdays right?!!!
Today my gorgeous baby girl is 6 months old!!!!
I cant even get over how quickly time has passed! Absolutely the fastest six months of my life... The nine months leading up to her birth were by far the longest, most anticipated months of my life. And well worth the wait!
My daughter has changed, as I'm sure all babies do, so much in such a short amount of time. I am proud of her, and in awe for new reasons every day.

Today we are celebrating by going to a "Family Day" event in the next town over. Hopefully enjoy a wagon ride, and have some nice treats. Sadly the weather isn't as sunny as I was hoping for, but the weather is quite mild for this time of year.

I hope to post a few photos and update on how our day went :)

Take care because I care!

Who's this? Me!

Hey Y'all
I suppose I should introduce myself and what not... Well my name is Meaghan, and I am a 22yr old mother of a gorgeous 5 1/2 month old baby girl Makenna. As most mothers would also say about their children, she is my world. Makenna lights up my life each and every day and watching her grow and learn is by far my greatest joy in life.
The purpose of this blog is to share my life, as I live it one day at a time...
I enjoy and have opinions on many many things, and hope to share that with all of you :)
I also can assure you that beyond my ramblings I intend to share my loves of art, photography, horses, nature, beauty, sales, and all things mommy!
Enjoy the ride.........
